Welcome to the Utah Rotorcraft Association!

        We are the Local PRA Chapter 2 of the National Organization "Popular Rotorcraft Association"

Our goal is to promote and support the safe flying of Rotary Winged Aircraft.  This includes: Helicopters, and Gyroplanes (also known as Gyros, Gyrocopters and even Autogyros), in all their wonderful variety (commercial, experimental, government and military).  To this end we meet regularly(usually once a month)to learn more about what it takes to make ones dream of flying into reality.  Some of us are already licensed pilots, some of us are student pilots, and some of us are someday wanna be pilots.  Our ages and experience levels vary greatly, but we all share a common love of flying and a desire to learn more and progress towards our eventual, personal dreams of flight.

Many of us struggle to come up with the funds required to get into traditional flying in commercially built Rotorcraft.  So many of us are building our own Aircraft under Experimental Aircraft rules.  The EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association) is also a great resource for anyone with dreams of flight.  Building your own aircraft can bring the costs of getting started in this sport with your own aircraft down into a range that many people are able to manage.  Some people have managed to get into the air under a pair of Rotors for under $10,000.  While it is easy to spend more than that, this is a sport that can be accomplished by people of modest means if you want it bad enough.  However getting the training and support you need to be able to build and fly your own aircraft safely is VERY important!

We would love to have you join our group and share this journey with us.  You are welcome and invited to come to any of our Regular Meetings or any of our Special Events and get to know us and decide if you would like to share some of these experiences with us.

We are very fortunate to have several Rotorcraft Manufacturers and Dealers right here in the State of Utah.  Plus there are lots of Training Facilities that would be happy to help you attain your goal of Rotary Winged Flight.  Many of them have representatives of their organization in our group and participate with us on a regular basis.  The good news is: "You are not alone!!!!", there are many of us that will be glad to help and support you in your dreams.
